Man killed when hit by motorbike in Alice Springs, NT

A pedestrian has died and a motorbike rider is in a critical condition following a serious crash in Alice Springs, NT.

Police and paramedics first received reports that a man had been struck by a motorbike on Undoolya Rd about 8pm on Friday.

CPR was performed on the pedestrian however he was declared dead at the scene.

The male motorbike rider was found at the scene of the crash with “significant injuries” according to police.

He was taken to Alice Springs Hospital in a critical condition.

“Detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the incident,” NT Police said.

Before the crash police say the motorbike was seen riding around the nearby suburb of East Side, located about four minutes away.

The bike is described as an orange and black KTM off road bike.

Undoolya Rd was closed overnight however it has now reopened.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the bike earlier in the night has been urged to contact 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.
